APPS FOR MOBILE DEVICES

In most countries, official statistics are still not as easy available source of facts for the general public as they deserve to be. With the explosive growth in the distribution and use of mobile communication devices as smart phones, tablets, etc., the public can enjoy music, videos and books at any location and at any time, but access to official statistics is lagging behind. Producers of statistics must actively take advantage of existing methodology and technology in marketing statistical applications for mobile devices. An aim should be statistical facts easy accessible by the mobile device in the pocket. Only a few statistical organizations have so far published 'apps' making statistical information from their production available by mobile devices.
S. N. & A. has developed applications for mobile devices to investigate the possibilities created by recent technological development of mobile devices and marketing of statistical information to new user groups by these new products.

Mobile devices

The mobile devices on the market vary with respect to operating systems and embedded features. S. N. & A. has based our efforts so far on Google's operating system Android. This system is used by devices from major mobile phone and tablet manufacturers, and our apps can be runned on several hundred different devices.
